The B club was established in the early winter of 2003 in the dwindled mining town of Tuscarora, located in the north-eastern high desert of Nevada.
At that time the five of us attended the same MFA program. As acquaintances we went into the high desert with the intention of sharing our separate artistic styles, methods, and ideas through daily art practice, nightly dinners, and evening readings of texts that motivated our individual art practicewe left as collaborators, establishing our connection as the B club.
Post-graduate, the B club continues the collaboration unhindered by geographical distance from Oakland, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Manhattan and Florence, Italy. Exploring themes of synchronicity, natural and seasonal rhythms, cultural displacement, mapping and navigation, connection and the gift, our process is one of monologue to dialogue, character to chorus, sentence to paragraph.
